A Bloom in Pink Hero Story

Bloom in Pink

A heartfelt thank you for helping turn one conversation into a community working towards a future with zero deaths from breast cancer.

On Sunday 11 October, Integrated People Solutions, hosted at Farm Vigano where the room was filled with pink, generous hearts and the kind of conversations that stay with you. People had come to listen, to share, to connect and to stand beside those affected by breast cancer. In that room, a simple idea had become something much bigger:

A community choosing to care

Every person who spoke, attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered, encouraged or shared the invitation helped make Bloom in Pink what it became.

Together, we have reached a milestone close to my heart: Bloom in Pink is now a Pink Hero fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

Since the luncheon, we have reached a milestone close to my heart: Bloom in Pink has become a Pink Hero fundraiser. I am deeply grateful to everyone whose generosity, encouragement and time helped us take this step.

Why We Gathered

Breast cancer has touched both sides of my family. My maternal grandmother died at just 42, at a time when access to treatment and medical support was limited. I also saw my paternal grandmother face breast cancer at 94. Their stories are part of mine, and they remind me that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a circle of people learning how to be there for one another.

NBCF’s 2026 fundraising material shares the sobering reminder that every day in Australia 56 people are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people die from the disease. Its vision is Zero Deaths from breast cancer. Research gives us reason to keep working towards that future, and every donation, auction bid, shared message and conversation can help move us forward.

More than a luncheon

Bloom in Pink was proudly hosted by Integrated People Solutions (IPS), and the connection between the event and our work is deeply personal. IPS was built on a simple belief: businesses grow when their people grow. We work alongside business owners with practical HR, payroll and people solutions that help them lead well, support their teams and build workplaces where people can thrive.

Clarity, Capability and Confidence are central to how we do that.

  • Clarity helps people understand what is happening and see a way forward.
  • Capability gives leaders and teams the tools, knowledge and support to meet challenges and grow.
  • Confidence helps people make decisions, speak up and take the next step.

At Bloom in Pink, we saw these ideas beyond the workplace: in honest conversations, people sharing what they had learned, and a room full of people choosing to support one another

Bloom in Pink began with a simple conversation between my dear friend Priyanka from Cocoa Oven and me. We wanted to find a meaningful way to give back, support women and connect business and community. There was no grand plan at the beginning, just a shared purpose and an idea that slowly grew because people chose to help.

The day reflected the journey at the heart of Bloom in Pink: awareness leads to support; support strengthens resilience; resilience creates empowerment; and empowerment asks each of us to take responsibility for the people around us.

Bloom in Pink’s five-stage journey: awareness leads to support, support strengthens resilience, resilience creates empowerment, and empowerment encourages collective responsibility for the people around us.

Carlie Byrom, Founder of Life Brain Training & Counselling spoke from the perspective of a daughter supporting her mum through breast cancer, reminding us that diagnosis affects the people who stand beside someone, too.

Di Geddes, author of Courage to be me shared a story of survival, rebuilding and finding her way back to herself.

Amira Hamit spoke about the impact of cancer within a family and the importance of awareness, hope and community support which is what got her into Family Law practice.

Their openness made room for reflection and reminded us that strength does not have to mean doing everything alone.

Our panel brought those lived experiences into practical questions: what does support actually look like, how can workplaces respond with compassion, and how do we offer help without taking away someone’s independence? Those questions matter long after an event ends.

The people who made it possible

To every guest who booked a place, wore pink, listened, shared a story, made a connection or simply showed up: THANK YOU.

Your presence made the room feel welcoming and reminded us that community is something we build together.

Our goodie bag sponsors, we thank you!

  • Edenvale – thank you for generously supporting Bloom in Pink for a second year. Your premium alcohol-removed wines helped make the gathering feel celebratory and welcoming. Choosing to stand beside this cause again is a beautiful example of community-minded generosity, and we are grateful you helped send a little moment of enjoyment home with our guests.
  • Sukin – thank you for providing thoughtful skincare and personal-care gifts for our guests. Your generosity gave everyone a practical reminder that self-care matters, and that the women who spend so much time caring for others deserve care for themselves, too.
  • Gaiaè – thank you for sharing your sacred botanicals for self-care and devotion. Your gift invited a moment to slow down, reconnect and tend to ourselves with the same tenderness we so readily offer the people around us. What a beautiful message to carry home from Bloom in Pink.
  • SVR – thank you for your generous skincare contribution to our goodie bags. As a French dermocosmetic brand offering care for a range of skin types, SVR helped us share a personal moment of care with our guests. We are grateful you chose to be part of their Bloom in Pink experience.

Together we raised $2,368 to support the breast cancer research. It is every ticket, generous donation, silent-auction bid and act of support adding up to real momentum for NBCF’s vision.

Keep talking about breast cancer awareness. Check in on someone you love. Listen without rushing to fix things. Make it easier for people around you to ask for support, at home, in the community and at work.

Every time you pass these stories along, you help the message reach someone who may need encouragement, a reminder to check in, or the chance to support breast cancer research. Thank you for being part of this beautiful community and helping us turn care into action.
